#IMWAYR: Really quick update!

Hi everyone! I have a really, really brief update for you all, so let's get to it!

Mad Honey

Olivia McAfee knows what it feels like to start over. Her picture-perfect life—living in Boston, married to a brilliant cardiothoracic surgeon, raising their beautiful son, Asher—was upended when her husband revealed a darker side. She never imagined that she would end up back in her sleepy New Hampshire hometown, living in the house she grew up in and taking over her father’s beekeeping business.

Lily Campanello is familiar with do-overs, too. When she and her mom relocate to Adams, New Hampshire, for her final year of high school, they both hope it will be a fresh start.

And for just a short while, these new beginnings are exactly what Olivia and Lily need. Their paths cross when Asher falls for the new girl in school, and Lily can’t help but fall for him, too. With Ash, she feels happy for the first time. Yet she wonders if she can trust him completely. . . .

Then one day, Olivia receives a phone call: Lily is dead, and Asher is being questioned by the police. Olivia is adamant that her son is innocent. But she would be lying if she didn’t acknowledge the flashes of his father’s temper in Ash, and as the case against him unfolds, she realizes he’s hidden more than he’s shared with her.

Mad Honey is a riveting novel of suspense, an unforgettable love story, and a moving and powerful exploration of the secrets we keep and the risks we take in order to become ourselves.

I'm reading this book for a book club (hence why it is very different from my usual fare), and it is immensely gripping and I'm racing through it! (I also have to, because the meeting is coming up fast and I waited too long...) I'll probably finish the book tonight, and I look forward to sharing a full review next week!

The Kidlit Lovers' Meetup!

The first Kidlit Lovers' Meetup was last night, and it was wonderful!! I had a great time meeting those of you who were able to join, and hearing all kinds of new perspectives about books and reading. Thank you to everyone who attended!

And if you weren't there last night, fear not! We have another meetup scheduled next month, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 4-5 PM Pacific. Click here to RSVP for the meetup, or click here to learn more about the meetups in general.

I really hope to see you there!

That's everything for now—enjoy your week, and see you soon! ✨✨

    1. Okay, books. I am ashamed to say that I have not read any Jodi Picoult 😬 but I hope to at some point because I like her and so many people I like love her.

Happy reading this week and thank you for linking up 📖💙

  6. The meet-up was a DELIGHT! I loved the discussion and meeting some new-to-me bloggers and of course adding more books to the TBR. So I've only read one Jodi Picoult novel, many years ago, and I never read another because it was so propulsive. Like I couldn't put it down but I had other things to do and sleep to get but just had to keep reading instead to find out what was going to happen! (It was My Sister's Keeper). I know some people love that kind of reading experience, but life is quite suspenseful enough for me. I like my books to be a little slower-paced and quieter! Hope your book club meeting is fun.

  7. I'm so sorry I missed the zoom meeting Max. I discovered your reminder email in my spam box this morning. I've added the July one to my calendar and will go in search of an email as the day draws near.
