Personal update!
This post does not need to exist, but I'm writing it anyway, if only because I want the full and complete story of my COVID adventure (see part 1 and part 2) chronicled on my blog!
So I said on Sunday how I was feeling normal, and wow, I spoke WAY too soon! Because on Monday, my almost-gone COVID turned into pneumonia, and I got to partake in all kinds of fun symptoms including fever and congestion and some coughing and plenty of fatigue.
Thankfully, the doctor prescribed antibiotics and an inhaler on Tuesday, and I'm feeling much better today—still tired and with a few symptoms, but able to function. (I finally got my haircut today!)
Still, it's sort of wild how I've been sick for over two weeks straight (including the entire first week of the grad school semester). Don't get COVID, y'all, and if you do, take Paxlovid and rest hard!
But thankfully, things are meandering back to normal, and I'm so grateful for it!
Oh no! I am so sorry that your Covid, which is bad enough, turned into pneumonia! I do hope you are feeling better, taking care of yourself, and are able to be up and about soon. Paxlovid may not be the cure-all as people who take it often have rebound Covid within a week or so. That's also no fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're feeling better, Max. COVID is no joke. You were smart to rest hard.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're feeling better. I hope you fully recover soon.
ReplyDeleteOh, no, Max! I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm late reading this, so I hope you are much improved by now. But your advice is spot-on: people need to take COVID seriously and take Paxlovid if they get it. The incidence of long-time lingering effects is very high - seems like the word is just not getting out, but I hear all about it in the chronic illness world.
ReplyDeleteRest, read good books, and feel better!
