Well, it's happening—on Monday, I start in-person college classes for the first time in my life. Accordingly, I will be wildly busy and frantic for a while, but considering I posted a book review every single week of my first year of college last year (which was all-virtual), I don't think my blog will suffer too much. But you can expect that Thursday Thoughts posts will be on hiatus, and I probably won't have time to stop by people's blogs during the week (although I will still be diligent about commenting on your MMGM and #IMWAYR posts). Blogging is a nice respite from the chaos of college, so I will look forward to sharing oodles of book reviews as always in the months to come! In other news, I bought a bunch of new graphic novels using gift-card money! A few are already out, most of them come out in September and October, and one comes out in February and one in April. MMGM (7/29/2019): Positively Izzy by Terri Libenson

I'm back (a week late—sorry!) with a review of the graphic novel Positively Izzy  by Terri Libenson (a follow-up to Invisible Emmie , which I reviewed here ).           With her single mother at work every day, Izzy (one of two main characters of the book) finds herself constantly doing chores and being bossed around by her older sister, Danielle, who essentially runs the house when her mother is gone. Izzy finds solace in making up/acting out stories with her slightly younger sister, Ashley, and this passion prepares her for the upcoming school talent show, in which she is excited to perform a skit. However, when Izzy learns that she won't be able to perform in the show (I won't spoil why), she has to figure out, with Ashley's help, if there is any chance to fulfill her dream and act onstage.           The other main character of the book, Brianna (who readers will recognize as Emmie's best friend from  Invisible Emmie ), is a confident, straight-A student

#IMWAYR: Running out of nothingburger post titles!

I am continuing my grandiose reading slump—and honestly? Not feeling too bad about it! Books will still be there when I get back to them. I mentioned last week that I've been playing a video game for a few weeks, Desta: The Memories Between —and like thirty minutes ago, I BEAT THE STORY MODE!!! I love this game—the story is affecting and poignant and wise, and the gameplay is engaging enough to make me feel all clever when I do something right, yet not so demanding that I can't sit and have a relaxing time playing. There are other game modes that I could play in order to explore the rest of the game's story—or I could switch over for now and play another game by the studio (Ustwo Games). Decisions, decisions!
